Google Local - Good News For Us  E-mail

One of our forum users asked a great question the other day, and here's how it played out:

"It's no secret that Google just changed their local search algorithm which is impacting how page one displays results. The map area has been changed and the local business listings are now displayed as the top 5 or 7 results where the organic placements used to be. That pushes the top organic placements to the bottom of page one and onto page two.

Here is an article describing the change if you haven't read about it:

The impact to directory and lead generation sites may be an issue if the best we can rank is at the bottom of page 1 or on page 2.

Any thoughts here as to how our sites will do because of this change? There is always a solution and I thought it wise that we discuss it now and determine the best alternatives."

The fact is, Google is experimenting right now, and no one really knows where they will end up, but all indications are that they will settle on a "Blend" of organic listings mixed with local targets, which is stellar for guys like us, because with power tools like Brute Force SEO: EVOII and Unique Article Wizard at our disposal, we are ALREADY ranking above the local search results.

So, while the final mix remains to be seen, I wouldn't worry too much- we'll find a way to still rank high- we always do ;-)
